Before going to Japan, I didn’t really know what to expect as an exchange student. It felt completely different from just visiting the country my mom is from. But once I settled in, got familiar with Sendai, and made friends in my class, my entire perspective on studying there changed.

Experiencing daily school life showed me how different the education system is compared to Vancouver, not just in what students learn, but how they learn it. From classroom structure to student responsibility, everything felt new and pushed me to adapt and grow. Overall, the experience helped me see both cultures in a deeper way and made me appreciate learning outside my comfort zone.

What a great experience to have in high school! And how courageous of you to go for it.

These learnings will inform the rest of your life in unimaginable and wonderful ways.

I think the world would be completely changed if every teenager could have such an experience.

Thank you so much for your comment.😘

With patience, surprise and gratitude...

I meant "hurtling". Although our CEO did encourage our drinking beer so there may of been "hurling" too😬
