My book is now available on Amazon and IngramSpark. I announced it to my family, friends, and the Rancholabradores Google group, the email which connects our Mexican community.
My inbox was soon filled with congratulations and messages, and some had already ordered the book. As I walked to the pool, people greeted me as "Author."
In 2018, Yves and I purchased a villa in Las Labradores, a gated ranch located 15 km from San Miguel de Allende. The property features swimming lanes and hot tubs filled daily with fresh spring water, which is later drained to irrigate the surrounding vegetation. No chemicals are added to the silky, body-temperature water. I was sold.
We found the perfect renter, Nina, a Mexican woman, flexible enough to allow us visitation rights whenever we so desired. Mostly when Vancouver was cold and rainy in the winter months. We would arrive with our bathing suits and sunglasses to find the locals in Parkas and toques. Nina would leave the house better than we left it last, and visit her children in other parts of Mexico and the USA while we enjoyed the house.
In 'Never Still', I share how my daughter Anika and I built community wherever we lived by actively connecting with like-minded people.
Las Labradores is an active and thriving community, and when we arrived, we were warmly welcomed to share in its abundance.
Connections—physical, intellectual, and spiritual - on continual offer and privacy is respected.
What I have come to admire are people in the community gently lifting
each other up, ready with a comforting word and support when someone is in need.

I appreciate the attention provided by this community for my writing endeavour. I love being a part of a community that promotes growth and wellbeing.
Today, (10/8/25) someone generously volunteered to host a reading of “Never Still.” It means a lot to me to be recognized, and I am grateful.
